Music/Art Teacher
The Mastery Learning Institute, also known as Arthur Academies, is a network of small public elementary charter schools.
We are seeking a full-time K-5 Music/Art Teacher at multiple Arthur Academy schools for the 2025/2026 school year.
Job Description
- Schedule
- 30-40 minute Arts/Music sessions for K-5th grade two days per week
- Academic Intervention K-5th grade three days per week (days not teaching Arts/Music)
- Internal substitute on days not teaching Arts/Music
- Member of school committees (per principal assignment)
- Prepare one school music concert or one art show
- Follow Academic Content Standards
- Prepare for daily instruction while managing time and workload effectively
- Track and assess student progress, keep appropriate records, prepare required reports
- Learn, develop and implement standards of student behavior and classroom management
- Participate cooperatively with the principal and other professional staff members in assessing, learning and developing teaching techniques, classroom management and curriculum implementation
- Help build a strong academic school and community
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and families regarding student progress and student needs
- Participate in team level and school meetings, parent meetings
- Supporting the school with arrival and dismissal as well as other odd jobs
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Qualifications and Requirements:
Teacher licensure must be current with the Oregon State Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
Teaching or job related experience with school age children, paid or volunteer.
Experience planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum and classroom management.
Experience coordinating and implementing frequent standardized, diagnostic and authentic assessment of student learning.
